SAN JOSE, Calif -June 15, 2017 - Allied Telesis, a leading provider of hardware and software products that allow customers to build secure, feature-rich and scalable data exchange solutions, has launched the CentreCOM® GS920 series of unmanaged Gigabit Ethernet switches. Small businesses and networks typically require device feature configuration using a command line or graphical user interface, yet many users would prefer an even simpler way to configure their devices. The CentreCOM GS920 series is the perfect solution for this situation by allowing frequently-used switch functions to be configured using a front-panel DIP switch.
The series consists of three switch models:
Model | Port Configuration | Availability |
---|---|---|
GS920/8 | 8 x 10/100/1000T | Q3 2017 |
GS920/16 | 16 x 10/100/1000T | Q3 2017 |
GS920/24 | 24 x 10/100/1000T | Now |
All CentreCOM GS920 switches support Loop Guard that helps avoid looping at the network edge. Loop Guard discovers network loops and shuts down the affected ports. After the loop is resolved, the affected ports are automatically returned to active use. Per port speed and duplex configuration is also supported. This helps with older end-point or embedded devices where auto-negotiation is either not supported requires a fixed speed/duplex.
“When it comes to simple Gigabit edge connectivity, many of our customers are looking for performance, reliability and simplicity, all at a great value,” said James Mustarde, VP of Marketing. “Unmanaged GS920 switches deliver everything the small business or network requires, in a small and power friendly form factor.”
