Synology released DiskStation Manager (DSM) 7.2.2.
This latest update enhances system reliability by addressing potential factors that impact system operations and improves the efficiency of media file processing through a decentralized strategy.
«We are dedicated to improving the user experience with every update,» said Kenneth Hsu, Director of System Group. «With DSM 7.2.2, we thoroughly examined subsystems that play an essential role in data management and committed significant resources to re-engineer DSM, supporting packages, and mobile apps to make them more scalable and dependable.»
DSM 7.2.2 brings comprehensive enhancements to system reliability. Full-system restoration from C2 Storage via Hyper Backup is now 4 times faster than before, significantly reducing business RTO. Hybrid Share folders and data transfer activities are more resilient after abnormal server power events. Additionally, SSO login availability has been improved by enhancing compatibility with Entra ID (formerly Azure Active Directory).
Data security is also enhanced in DSM 7.2.2. This update strengthens the file system's capabilities in automatically repairing bitflip errors and improves the reliability of adaptive multi-factor authentication. Additionally, the security of immutable snapshots has been fortified by addressing a potential risk that allowed snapshots to be unlocked through manual attribute changes by administrators.
