Allied Telesis Develops Network AI™ for Wireless Intelligence

Allied Telesis, a leading provider of hardware and software products that allow customers to build secure, feature-rich and scalable data exchange solutions, has developed a unique technology to improve wireless networking performance. Network Artificial Intelligence, known as Network AI, was developed jointly by engineers and researchers at Allied Telesis and Kyoto University. This new technology uses game theory to model the continuously changing relationship between access point location and signal strength requirements.

The Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) and Internet of Things (IoT) movements have created an exponential increase in the number of connected devices, all of which demand reliable and high-speed wireless network access. This unprecedented rise in the number of connections and the associated traffic puts a major strain on networks, many of which struggle to deliver the coverage, performance, and roaming access that today’s users demand.

“Network AI automatically optimizes the performance and end user experience of wireless networks,’ said Seiichiro Satoh, SVP Global Marketing for Allied Telesis. ”Network AI is part of our Autonomous Management Framework, which is a zero touch approach to network and service management. Employing artificial intelligent techniques with real time analytics of user connectivity, behavior and data flows generates a marked increase in network coverage and performance when compared to legacy wireless networking."

Allied Telesis is integrating Network AI into its wireless solutions portfolio, which currently includes a traditional wireless solution, consisting of a TQ series access points, Cloud-managed AP series access points, and the Extricom single-channel solution featuring Channel Blanket™ technology.
